I decided to walk around a Chevy dealership while I was having some warranty work done. I hadn't stepped foot on a new car lot since 2000 when we bought a now defunct Olds product. Anyway, there are all these really ugly looking vehicles with high stickers parked everywhere and I read an Equinox's sticker:

Country of origin: Ingersoll, ON Canada

    Engine: China

    Transmission: Japan

I happen to own one of those crappy 3400 V6 engines. Mine was made in Mexico. Could GM be chasing cheap labor? I will never, never ever, NEVER buy a made in Communist China vehicle or vehicle with significant made in China part content. That should be enough rant for now. Nope. Need some of this :af: :moonu: :blast: :spank: :error:

Dont know about the engine from China, but I did work at the factory in Ingersoll Ont for 7 years and I can attest that the quality of the products built there (at least from a manpower perspective) was that of the best plants in the world. Don't forget there are several high quality vehicles built her in Ontario: Toyota Camry and Matrix, Lexus, Ford Crown Victoria, Pontiac Grand Prix and Chevy Impala.

Sadly, what isn't made in China nowadays! You may not want to support their political system, but I think it would be extremely difficult to not buy chinese products even if you deliberately tried. Read the following and think twice before you buy from WALMART or anywhere else!

99% of the stuff you get at WAL-MART comes from China and shoot, there are over 25,000 Chinese troops stationed at Fort Polk,Louisiana-courtesy of the United Nations!

I'm with you, Brian. The new crap GM expects us to buy nowadays does nothing for me anyway. Their vehicles are ugly and cheaply made. The other ones aren't much better. As for consumer goods, the same holds true.....I'll take a good old one over a new one cuz it's prolly made better.

Just bought the wife a new glass top stove, it's a Whirlpool and it's USA made as far as I know, but it's as flimsy as a shoebox. I would have bought an older one but they didn't make glass top stoves back when things were made right. :bglasses:
