Okay I guess it has to be said..... let's hear it for our wives who not only support us, but our hobbies as well. We are truly blessed to have our spouses. After all, behind every good man is his wife, sometimes pushing:rolleyes:

Ok...The Caprice has the three red tail lights BUT has reverse lights are in the bumper. It along with the 67 SuperSports, has the white driving lights next to the headlights, AND amber turn signals instead of clear with amber bulbs. Had several of each. OHC Joe 's gonna agree with this. ws

Early in my marriage my wife got annoyed with the time I was spending in the garage working on my Buick. She then said I had to choose the car or her. Told her I had the car longer than I knew her and it’s not going anywhere so she was the one that had to choose. She stayed and I added many more Buick’s , Trucks and various Gas powered toys to the collection. That was almost 30 years ago and she is now a co conspirator in my addiction. Men and ladies too stand your ground . if you don’t You will regret it.

That's not an Impala, it's a Bel-Air. The body side moldings give it away, Impala's were much different.
So at least part of this story is bogus. o_O

Hey Bill, your right about the tail and back-up lights on the Caprice, but the white fender lights were standard on the Caprice and optional on Impala, ImpalaSS and 427 Impalas.

That's interesting Nick.. In between a few Buick GS 455s, I had a 1967 SS 327/powerglide car that had the white front lights and always thought those were standard as mentioned above. This one was unique as it had the light monitoring system with the 3 (turn signal, high and low beam) fiber optic indicators on the top of the front fenders, PLUS inside just above the rear window, another pod that held a F/O indicator for the rear lights you'd see in the rear view mirror. I changed the tailights out from a '67 Caprice parts car, but not the bumper.

Trivia: the Caprice came with VOGUE whitewall steel belted BIAS PLY (NOT radial) tires, that once driven, took a rotation "set". Dummy me, rotated them and broke all the steel belts loose. That thing would rattle the store boughts at 70 mph! Thanks for the update! ws

I'm still taking this at face value; if the scrapyard sold any of the car's parts, that's dealing in stolen goods. Here in Florida that is classified as a class 2 felony and is punishable by 10-15 years in the graybar hotel and a fine of up to $10,000.

Mom junked my 63 Chrysler New Yorker with a 413 HO in it while I was away at college back in 71. When I came home for Christmas I went our behind the garage to start it and it was gone.
She went into my room in the basement and threw out everything on the top shelf on my closet too.
She threw out baseball cards from the 50's-60's, my stamp and coin collections I got from a wealthy uncle for Christmas over the years. The coin collections had mid 1800 silver dollars in it. I have no idea what all that stuff would be worth.
If you left a paycheck out she would throw it away.

Was on CTC autos website yesterday. They apparently have a '69 coupe that was a 427 car for $2999. Has Dog Dish hubcaps.

I loved my Mom, but she was the same. I had a huge baseball card collection that would be thousands of dollars in value today. I had managed to stash about 50 cards that she didn't find, and about ten years ago they were professionally appraised at more then $2,000 retail. Arragh!
