We are losing a lot of great musicians. They are all getting old.

Weird about "Joker" and this. My first thought when you mentioned Cream was the song "In the white room, with black curtains..." I understand that's played in a chilling scene in the movie.

Was sad to hear he passed. Dude could pound the skins. One of the greats, no doubt.

Besides senior citizen discounts, one of the benefits of being "old", like some of the other members on this forum, is that we were able to experience firsthand the huge variety of great music when we were growing up. I know every generation thinks "their" music is the best but, other than a few current bands nowadays, there really isn't much of a comparison in my opinion. How many current bands can say their members were 3 of the top 10, if not top 5 guitarists EVER (Clapton, Page and Beck), like the Yardbirds, who then went on to form other top bands like Zeppelin, Blind Faith, Derek and the Dominoes. Jeff Beck Group (with Rod Stewart, Jan Hammer) and many others + the countless collaborations they had with other top musicians? Not to mention, the dozens of other groups whose music still lives today, despite the seemingly increasing mortality we are seeing of their band members...truly was the golden age of music.
