Making some progress on converting my firewall, from air to non air. Here's the piece that was rivited in by a previous owner. Joe X.
engine hoist Boy that engine hoist looks familiar...I have not seen that thing for @ 4 months ...I kinda wondered where it went! At least it is being put to good use!
Thanks Scotty! I've taken this engine in and out, so many times with that thing, I can almost do it blindfolded ou:. Joe X.
How hard is that to do? I am going to switch from non AC to AC. What am i geting myself into? Also, ware did you get your doner part? I am looking for an A/C one.
Ynahpetscnb, The donor non A/C piece was cut off a junkyard '70 Chevelle, with a battery operated sawsall. Should be easy to find a Skylark, or other GM "A" body car with A/C, for what you need. The interior heater/core box is different, as well as the heater/controll parts. Let us know how your project goes. Joe X.
Top pic. Needs to be pushed back a bit, clamped, then holes welded up, ground flush, and seam sealer. Joe X.
looks good the non ac conversion. Just had the same thing done with my car. Looks a lot better than the galvanized aluminum patch I had in there for 12 or so years. Ill post some pics if i can. Allen allioop108@aol.com
Joe--Thanks for the pics! Looks like the job is going pretty well and should end up looking stock again. Neat to see what is behind all that firewall metal.
