Well, dad bought this 66 Caprice 396 back in Dec. He told me to put it on the lift where we could wash the underbody and paint it up a little. Ended up in parts and pieces.:jd:
Blasted the frame. Detailed the engine and cleaned the trans. Installed all new poly bushing with new springs, kyb shocks, new steering arms and joints.
Cleaned the under side and coated it with 3M. Re-sprayed the trunk, all the inner fenders blasted, painted the core support and firewall after cleaning and brushing. Fake Cad. plating on the booster. Much work, but my old friend came in and took control of the project this week. No substitute for experience and since he did it for a living for many years, he has plenty.
As we were dropping it down on the frame today, I liked this look. Add some leafs and make it a monster truck!!! Dad didn't like the ideal.
Give me time. We could have worked 2 more weeks detailing the minor things, but after all, it's not a BUICK!!!!
The 3 stage Eastwood spray bombs!! $20 per can, but looks nice if you do a good job. Not like the real thing, but much cheaper. We also did many body bolts, and fittings in it. I love that Eastwood Co.
Looking good John.Did I meet you and your dad at GS Nats this year?Your Dad had just purchased some 65 Riv NOS parts?
That was us Rusty. Enjoyed the chat we had! That was a rough round trip that day, but well worth it. Did you get that nice addition to the shop tools home? $900 was a steal on that.
Yep,The body roll is home.Have not got to use it yet.Nice meeting you and your Dad.Keep us posted on your progress.
