At least Nixon had some Buick blood running through him, enough to give the car as a gift.

  7. Too much bad ju-ju; the Ceausescu's - husband and wife - were both publically executed just days (Christmas, 1989 to be exact) after the popular uprising that overthrew his regime after 25 years of iron-fisted rule. Might have had something to do with the thousands of their own subjects that they made disappear for being politically opposed, or that starved to death while those two lived Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous in a nice big palace. With a nice big car. A Buick as I recall...

As an aside piece of trivia, Hillary Clinton on more than one occasion said she admired this couple and held them up as good examples of sound political leadership and innovators of great social engineering.

I just wonder what tomfoolery is going on and after seeing that Vette I know something is up . It sounds like a scam...

After a couple of failed attempts, I finally contacted the seller.
From the email that he sent me it sounds a lot like a scam to me.
    Here's what he sent back;

Notice how he refers to his Corvette as his "item" or "machine".
Also, the name on the message differs from the one to send payment too. :puzzled:

All of his/her transactions took place with ebayers with HUGE histories.

Interesting stuff! I wonder what the story is behind this weird little deal.:puzzled:

That may be so, but it looks like they've never sold anything.
    Zero feedback from buyers.

    69GS400s ...my own amusement ride!

    (bowing...) Ahhh thank you....thank you

I shut him down.....sent the Ebay Nazi squad onto him after I emailed him and baited him a bit :Brow:

It started inocently enough - the address is Ny, NY so I figured for $750 I'd chase after a premo looking duece and a 1/4

Then I saw his 'Vette for sale and got his response and it all started to smell like rotting fish at low tide

Here's Some of the Emails -= my first one was just requesting more info and the chance to look at the car here in NY.

NOTICE the response is in well written english - and then the last response is horrible gibberish

    Hello there,
    >Thank you for your interest in purchasing my item First of all I must inform you that currently I'm in Portugal and the machine is here with me .I am the first owner of the item; I bought it directly from a local dealership.

The machine is in perfect condition ,no damage,no scratches or dents, never touched the ground, no hidden defects, keept in my
    >own garage. The machine is an US model with US specs,it passed the test emissions and comes with all the documents you need to register the item.

It has a clear title and it can be registerd into your name,so stay cool about this. I recently ordered a new car from a dealer down here and i need the cash in the next few days to pay for it. The price I hope to obtain is $9,300 USD (this price includes the shipping and insurance) and if you agree with this price we can start to complete the transaction. I have to tell you that I have Other serious offers that I have to consider and I will make a decision regarding this sale function of time of payment and price.

The car will be shipped from Portugal and i will cover the shipping
costs and insurance. You will not have to pay additional taxes, just only the price for it.

    Hi

The auction for the Buick Grand National Electra has NO RESERVE, and the current bid is $750.00. If i bid $800.00 and win the auction do you intend to complete the transaction ???

You also have a 1967 Corvette convert. listed now . It too has no reserve and is currently at $1,136.00 Do you intend to sell that one for what ever the bidding reaches when completed ?

If So, I will buy both.

I am also looking for a Buick SuperBee with the rare 429 SuperCobraJet engine. Only 7 of these were ever produced. If you could help me find one, I would be willing to pay $75,000.00 US for that one alone as I have to have it for my collection.
