Not for the 68-70 Buick only 8.2. 3.42 and 3.64 ratios are the only two that have been reproduced. Right now they too are out of production.
2 series or 3? You may need a different carrier to jump up to steeper gears or you may be able to use a 2 series with a spacer to move gear into the right position. Brian Trick and Monzaz are members you should turn to for parts, etc. as they have lotsa experience with Buick differentials. Jim
I realize this is an old post but I was wondering if anyone was still making and selling 3.42 or 3,64 gears and posi unit for the Buick only 8.2 rear end. Thanks guys
Fabcraft is the only one to reproduce those gears. Not sure what is left, but you may want to call them. TA Performance may have the Posi units and maybe some gears sets as well. Call them too. http://fabcraftmetalworks.com/

FabCraft is preparing another run of the 3:42 gears. Not sure if or when they will do another run of 3:64’s.
Thanks guys. I made the mistake of pulling my rear end apart on my 69 skylark and a friend didn’t realize the bolts were left hand thread and helped take it apart and broke most bolts thinking they were normal bolts. So I’m dead in the water and I was looking for an easy answer so I could enjoy my car a little more this season. It is a Buick only 8.2 non posi. I’m thinking a rear end swap may be a better idea and shorten the drive shaft about an inch.
Right. But I have to remove the broken bolts from the ring gear. All but 2 are snapped off in it. I got a set of 3.55 gears before I knew about the Buick only 8.2. I was hoping to add some better gears and a posi to liven the car up a bit.
Usually never a problem just remove the ring gear and they will twist right out...USUALLY. Never had an issue only if we bought a unit from a swap meet that was laying around for years etc. Jim
