    Good Evening,

    I am in need of some assistance; Are 3.73:1 gears too much or just right for a 10.1 compression .030-over Buick 455 V8 (@ .050-Lunati cam 288/296-duration @ 503/538-lift) in a 1987 Buick Regal with a TH400 3-speed automatic transmission with TCi shift-kit and 2,000-stall TCI "saturday-Nite-Special converter? The 10-bolt 8.5 came out of an '86 Olds442(non-posi-w/stock 3.73:1's).

Please help. Thank you much. :Do No:

I found that the 3.73's got around better on the street than the 4.10's I ended up with. If I remember right, I had 28" tires and went thru the traps at 5800 "ish" and w/4.10's it was around 6400 and around 6800 on spray. I'd stick with 3.73's for all around streetability and keeping the rpms at a 455 friendly level at the track.
