Valid point, I almost sold the unit but it's sitting on my shelf, moved into a new place and the 1 car garage is a it harder to work into, might be installing it this weekend.

Figured the car is a GS400 and has the nice center console, figured this would keep it looking stock plus I have it in the garage collecting dust

Yes, if I was doing this today, my choice would be the 4L80E all day long. The Gear Vendors is by far the sturdiest overdrive unit, and that is the reason you see them in the most powerful street rods. In stock form, they are good to 1200 HP, and they can be modified to take 2000 HP. Originally designed for motor homes, they can take a lot of abuse in powerful heavy vehicles.

Hell, they practically dare you to try and hurt it in the manual:D

If you decide to sell the GV I'd be interested in buying it for my 67.

But if you do install it I'm curious to hear what you will need to do to the floor and crossmember to make it work! Should make the car a pleasure to cruise on the highway

Have had the GV unit in my 69 Stage 1 conv. for a little while now, have one ride on it, to the the top guy, being done as we speak. Unit is incredible, Took my T-400 with 3.64 rear and made it a real driver. Rattled the windows on a brand new 5.0 Mustang as I passed him. I cant wait to get the car back and put the full interior in, and DRIVE. One note, when they installed it, they did do a small mod to the floor pan to make sure that it will have clearance under all conditions, I have a bench seat, so not to concerned. They are pricey, but I still have a stock stage 1.

I will keep you in mind if I do!

Had one set back, hit a pothole on my way to some late night CNC classes and this was the outcome. Did not notice it until I came to pick up my car from the work parking garage a week later.

Was about to throw the rally wheels back on but I'll give these another chance. Maybe need a bit more sidewall but I was rubbing on turns.

If I receive the wheel by Friday, I will work on installing the unit this coming weekend.

I will report back any mods I have to do if any. I am really hoping I don't have to mess with the tunnel at all.
