What kind of sealer do you guys use on paper gaskets? Finally got the right timing cover gasket today. With any luck I'll be firing my motor this weekend:Brow: But I said that a month ago too !!

Andy , You will get alot of opinions and comments . I use spray permatex for a no fuss clean up , also silicone if cleanup time is not a problem. Spray permatex work's awesome for most need's ! Good Luck !:Brow: :TU:

 Andy , Thanx ! A friend of my son was over and did a liitle magic . At least that's what they tell me . Your gaskets will be fine with the spray permatex. Hang em by some wire and spray both sides . EZ and Neat and ....................................... it works !:beer :TU:

Be sure to open the oiling holes in the gasket to be as large as the holes in the cover! Seems they come through with those holes a lot smaller than the actual timing cover holes. Causes a restriction.

i like the spray tack stuff (like the red permatex). seems to be the same sticky consistency as the brush-on stuff, but it's much easier to use.

My vote goes to Copper Coat. I use it on the gasket surface that is away from the motor whenever possible. If for any reason you need to remove the part, clean-up and removal is easy. I know, I know - if it correct the first, there is no need to remove the part. But you have to remember that parts are not made like they used to be...
