The hybrid water heater is designed to go to normal electric mode at 47 Deg. F. The outside temperature was colder then that, but the garage door was closed and the garage temperature stayed a bit above that. The hybrid heater never went into the electric resistance unit mode. It probably wouldn't work as well in New England in the wintah, but it would still save a buncha dough in the summah. As long as it stays togetha for a few years, I think that I made a wise choice. If it doesn't, I'll tell ya.
