I called a local radiator/gas tank supplier in my area; he quoted $ 400+ for a new tank. I know I seen them in the books (OPG, Year One) for around $ 200. Anyone have any suggestions? Should I just clean my tank, seal the inside and paint it? I also need a new sending unit.

    Len,

Contact Quanta products at 800-235-8788 or order online @ www.QuantaProducts.com. I just bought a tank for a 70 Skylark from them. With shipping to Ohio, it was $219.00. The tank was priced at $169.00. I actually bought a 68-69 tank and installed it in a 70. Only difference is the 68-69 does not have the flat spot in the filler neck as the 70 does but it fits fine. Should be cheaper for you as they are located in Pennsylvania.

There are others that sell tanks such as , Parts Place, Year One, etc.

    Hope this helps,

    Larry

For a 71 I believe that Quanta can sell you one with the neck in place. You can get one a little cheaper from say OPG but you would have to consider shipping across country to you at oversized rates.
