hope not to sound like a smart ass but there is actually LESS energy in higher octane. but more controlled burn(less chance of detonation) lower octane has more of an explosive charricteristic. I never knew that thermodynamics class would come in handy... nate 1.97 in northern Illinois for 87 octane. 2.07 for 87 just 3 miles away in wisconsin.
Did you guys know that in 1981 we were paying the equivalent of 2.37 a gallon? Production costs have matched inflation so prices have been stable. What we need to do is kill or capture a few more dictators around the world ie Mugabe, Chaves, Khameni etc etc.....
