I need a gas pedal for my 71 Skylark. The 69 skylark gas pedal on Ebay is the same part # 403533 as mine, but his looks to have only 1 provision for a cable to hook up to it and mine on my 71 gs has 2 cables hooking up to it. Is the difference have to do with the kickdown and why the same part # then?

The 69 gas pedel may be from a GS400 that had a TH400 ( electric kick down ) and your 71 GS has a TH350 needing a kickdown cable. Most of my 69 TH350 cars all have 2 holes for cabels and my GS cars have only 1

    hope that helps Ken

    Ken,

Thanks for the information. I guess what surprizes me is that the 2 pedals have the same part# but are different!

For what it is worth, the pedal assemblies are actually 3 different parts. Black plastic pedal, retainer spring and metal rod. If you are looking at the # on the black plastic pedal, it will be the same on the 350 and 400. The difference is that the metal rod has an extra bracket welded to it for the TH350 kickdown cable.
One for a 350 car should not be too hard to find.
