Well my 41 arrived today and after walking around it for an hour and a half I finally parked it in the garage. Now comes the part about where to start.

This car has the original straight 8 motor. I am told that these old motors need a little help in the petrol department to make em run right. Question is what gas additives to use. Anybody got any answers?

Think maybe I will just do a little cleaning of parts this weekend and take it slow. Haste makes waste, or so they say.:Comp:

I have put 100,000 miles on my 40 and have never used an additive. I am sure you will find people that say it is necessary, so let your conscience be your guide

I agree with Joe, keep a good grade of gas in the car and make sure you don't put Ethanol in or it will eat up the rubber lines and gaskets. Once and a while I will put in the gas some Marvel Mystery Oil just to keep the system clean but other than that the old straight 8's are pretty bullet proof. If you are going to rebulid the carb etc make sure you have a new kit not an old one because new gaskets etc are not dried out and will work with Ethanol gas if you run across it. We have it in Minnesota and have redone all my cars to handle it. Good luck on the project.
