Hi all, wondering about those G-Tech's that measure the quarter mile, etc. Just wnated to know if there accurate at all and if so roughly the price of one. May be going to Detroit in a few months maybe try and pick one up when I'm down in the states. Thanks for all the help, Gerald
Hi Gerald I have one of the older, cheaper, G-techs... I've had it in about 4 cars now. I even used it at the racetrack while racing 2 different cars. It is very consistent, and in every case it showed my cars to be about .1 slower than they really were. I used it in cars ranging from 13 second cars to 16 second cars. So for accuracy, I would rate it pretty darn good. For consistancy (As a tuning tool while you make subtle changes to your car) I would say it's awesome. I think I paid like $40 on ebay for it. I've spent $40 on much worse things. p :beer
True enough, forty bucks isn't too bad for somewthing that can help me dial in my car. Maybe I'll look into purchasing one on ebay. Do these calculate HP very well??
Take a look at this product. A friend in Colorado used one and it was right on. Some of the Turbo Regal owners I chat with on line say this is the way to go also. I have used the original Gtech Pro at the strip for over 12 passes. Its been as close as a tenth too quick to a half second too slow. For the $49 I paid,I can't complain though. Nothing beats a timeslip.
