Any of you folks have experience with readings from the new product vs actual race results. Mfg. claims accuracy within .01. In your experience, how accurate did you find them? :3gears:

I've heard they're within about .2 and 2 mph of actual.

Thanks, Phil. I bought the meter about a year ago and the info in the box said +/- .01. I just checked their web site and they now say variance of .05. Better than a stopwatch I guess!

    Jack,
I'm wondering the same thing. I have the new GTech Competition Pro. Before the snows came, I launched the car on street tires(2.2 60') down near a deserted stretch on the beach, and ran it up to 115 MPH. The GTech said 13.171 @ 107.60 MPH. I hope that's accurate, because that's the best the car ever did. I'm going to use it on a pass down the track this season, and find out for sure.

I have the older one without the digital display.
It read consistantly slow on every car I tried it in (3 of them)
I forget the amount, but I think it was around .1 or .2 ET and 1 or 2 MPH
But it was very consistant. Great for tuning at home. You might not know exactly what you're going to run at the track, but you'll definately know if you're helping or hurting your car after each tuning change and test.

Hey guys. Got some info a couple of days ago, but was unable to post until today. I was locked out by a 2031 date showing on another of my posts.

Talked to some racers down here that use them to tune. General opinion is the ET's are within the stated +/- .05, but the MPH may be off 1MPH or so due to the Gtech taking a single snapshot of speed, while the track timers use an average. If that's the case, I'll take it! Ran back to back 12.60 @ 108.7 and 12.602 @ 108.6. 60' were 1.913's and 0-60's were 4.3. Larry, we're both happy campers!
