My hot rod buddy has decided to build a fuel-injected Nailhead powered '85 Regal....what clutch and brake pedals will fit the Regal? Oh yeah, it's also getting a 5 speed! Thanks!
Most common is Chevy stuff. Malibus and mostly El Caminos from 1978 - up to when they discontinued. I think 82 or 83 for the Chevys. Also Cutlasses and Regals were available in 1978 and 1979. I have no record of a Pontiac. If your scouting junk cars, even looking at a large distance away you can see the obvious big oversized looking column shift in park. If you don't see that, then go in for a closer look. Our local salvage yards have a few El Caminos that WERE sticks, but the parts are long gone. So these parts are becoming slightly hot, alyhough I haven't spied any other conversion locally outside of mine. Typing "G body pedals" into Ebay ocasionally yields results. Don't forget the special bell and clutch fork too. I know he's talkin' Nailhead stuff, but a clutch fork aiming 90 degrees out of the side will hit the floor. I recommend the way-more-common Chevy G body unique bell and fork with an adaptor to the Nailhead. Tell your Hotrod Buddy I said good luck on the project and if youns have any questions, LMK. :3gears:
all G-bodies were available with a stick from 78-80 after that only the chevies had it for a few more years
Sounds like someone will be cruising ebay for a while. Either that or just go custom from Summit or Jegs.
Thanks guys! I imagine they will be difficult to find. I'll keep my eyes open for a pair. Marty's last build was a '40 chev street rod....with a fuel injected nailhead. :eek2: It's an absolutely incredible car, so this Regal is sure to be a first-class build!
Original parts group has the pedals and other stuff in their 78-88 ElCamino and Monte Carlo catalog. I don't think they have the bellhousing though
Thanks Jamie! that's exactly the info I was looking for. They're $149 a pair...listed for '78-81 El Camino.....Anyone know why they shouldn't work on an '81-87 Regal?
Mine are El Camino. The El Camino I got them out of was hit hard in front, but the grill remnants I found lead me to believe it was a 1980 or 1981.
