    Jim,

Was your car ordered with the Chrome Plated wheel option (P05/V2)? If so, does it have chrome plated wheels or wheels that are chrome plated in the center with trim rings?

What is your body ID number. Just curious because my GS was built at the Wilmington plant.. I was lucky enough to find 2 build sheets for my GS, one behind the passenger side bucket seat back and the other in the rear seat springs.. Looks like the Wilmington plant workers were a little more careful with the build sheets than other plants....

Mike my wheels are listed as po5 v2 that is correct. That would be the chrome plated wheels ( I have always called them road wheels) . Build sheet was found in nice shape but a few pieces of it were stuck in the springs when I removed it.

Just glad to find it there. :eek2: :eek2: :TU:

    Bruce,

My build sheet and original dealer order form shows P05 / V2, but my car came with the chrome centers and trim rings and with the help of Duane H. I am now able to proove that the wheels are original. How?

Box 92 of the build sheet says "WHL CVRS". In that box are the numbers 88--89. The 88 is the last two digits of the trim ring part number and 89 are the last two digits of the center cap. The all chrome plated wheels would not show this.

What car are you talking about finding the build sheet for Bruce?

Duane H. has a service that he decodes build sheets, contact him if you are interested.

759 in box 92 which I think is standard rim. Came with 14" Rallyes so no complaints here. VIN lists it as a V6 and it has two extra cyllinders, so again no complaints here.

I gonna send Duane the sheet and check for decoding. It seems it's not original; but it is my son's first car as a daily driver and runs like a "champ" so I am not too concerned but I would like to show him how to trace the original features of the car so when he picks up another classic with "his" money he is in the know.

It's funny how excited I get when I find a build sheet. I just seem to get a cloud 9 and not want to come done. :)

My former Wildcat Custom 4 door was also built in Wilmington in 1967.
The serial # was 466398Y124884, It didn't have shoulder belts because they were still an option on early production cars.
It was certainly one of the rare 4 doors that came with a 3.42 axle!
About the PO5 road wheel option, I think it wasn't available as a factory option on Le Sabres and Electras until a year or two later.
I might be wrong on that one, let me know if I am!

It is a bit dirty on this picture! It was my first car and I used it as a daily driver for 8 years (or should I say 7 years because I got this one before I was old enough to drive!) until I had an accident with it in February 2000. I really miss that car!
My parents and friends didn't think at the time I would keep that car very long or that I would ever buy another car like this but I did!
