I just installed a new double roller chain on my 455. It seems that I may have seen a thread at one time that the fuel pump arm could rub. Anyone know about this? The package did not mention this.

There is definately a chance that the arm will rub the gear. There are two ways to correct for this. One is to file about a sixteenth of an inch toward the front of the car from both of the mounting holes in the fuel pump and offset it that much when you put it in. Just be careful not to go too far as oil will pour like a river if you do not get a good seal. The other way is to releive the arm on the pump before you put it in. There is an article on the Buick Performance web site that has pictures that show where to do it. I've got to go to work but I will look on the net when I get there and give you an address.

Thanks for the link. I like that idea. I can afford to take a chanc on ruining a fuel pump but the chain or front cover are another story.
