I have a buick electra 1984. Whenever I hit 45-55mph on the highway the car starts to bog out. When I push down on the gas all the way to the floor nothing happens. Could that be the fuel pump? Also the car starts up just fine.

Have a new fuel filter. Also if the car starts to bog around 35mph it will die. Thats only going up a hill. On the street the car can hit 50 and nothing happens.

It may be a plugged cat converter. But its illegal here to drive without it, but it shouldnt be to much to cost. thanks for the help.
