68 Lark. More than 1/2 a tank I get fuel dripping around the filler pipe and stinking up the garage. I don't have a manual yet, and I haven't been under it to see what lines go where. Can someone tell me if there is a vent line on top of the tank that might be cracked, or ?. I packed jb weld around the filler neck to tank joint, but it's still leaking.
Side issues I've been told that a new tank doesn't include a soldered-in filler neck, is that correct? Is the gas cap vented or not?

Are you sure it is the filler neck? all hoses and vents attach toward the front of the tank. very common for old rubber hose to rot and leak. Year One advertises a 68 tank with filler neck. Even if it doesn't I think radiator shops can attach the old neck to new tank. Check with other suppliers as I found a new tank from a supplier in Minnesota several years ago for about 160 bucks. I dont remember their name. I found ad in Hemmings.

Depends on the tank. For a 68 you may be able to get the neck too.

JB will not likely be a solution. Check the lines as was stated . I have never owned a 68 but a assume that it is vented from the front and you can see it maybe capped with a surge tube pointing straight up.

I found a good source for gas tanks with necks. These guys were the only company that I could find that had new tanks wih necks. Might want to give them a call. Tamraz 800-442-4601 or 630-904-4500 Ask for Rob. Great people to deal with. :TU:
