    Hi Guys,
Wrapping up the frame on my 70 vert and need ideas on where other have put fuel filters. I could put one on the drivers side of the frame in the middle but would have to cut one of the lines. Ideas? where have you put yours?

    Thanks!!

Just use the stock one on carb and change it regularly? Unless you have bad gas that should be all you need.......

The fuel filter is integral to the Quadrajet, that is how the engineers designed it.

Prefer not to what? Why do you think you need a different fuel filter? Putting a filter on the suction side of a stock mechanical fuel pump will present a restriction to flow.

Yes, for a stock set up, that's all you need.

Any problems with the casting/threads of your fuel inlet?

I have mine where the flexible hose exits the front crossmember. Before the pump. I am using a plastic cartridge style, since this forum scared me off my old glass and chromed steel filter...

No issues. and I don't have to mess with the Q-jet.

So I will have a filter in the quadrajet as well but I like to replace filters every so often. I prefer not to crack open the carb as the threads are just ok and just think less I open it the better. So I'm thinking to have another one I can replace periodically makes more sense. Good to know not on suction side as I never heard that.

If you convert your fuel line to braided hose, or push lok hose, you can use a billet fuel filter inline between the pump and carburetor.

Of course you don't have issues that's because your car don't run.

I thought you sold it on CL a few months ago....

Doesn't matter you push fuel though a filter..... NOT pull .... But then again if all you drive is 3 miles per hour who cares....

That's what the screen is for in the tank.....

I have had my filter in that location for over 30 years. I have driven the car many miles (some even at high speed).

    No issues.

(Edited later) To be 100% clear, Bob is likely correct about how this should be set up.

My car is a stockfish rebuilt 350, .030 over with a mild RV type cam. So adequate fuel flow has never been an issue.

Good eye. I did in fact have it up on there. I received a lovely offer for $3500.

I decided it wasn't worth selling it for that, so I am working on spending 10X that much on it, I guess.

I have never seen a gas filter plug up and one in the Q-Jet is more than enough to block crap from getting into carb especially if you are close to stock. If anything it would be taken out and one put inline just before carb. But no glass ones easy to break, leak and fire.
