I have a 64 buick skylark that had a front sway bay only to be missing somewhere :( I was wondering if anyone knows the diameter of the sway bar i think there is two sizes 1-1/8 and 1-1/4 im not too sure..does it matter if i get a bigger one or the smaller one? if anyone has one i would be interested too. :TU: thanks

The 64 Skylark came with a much smaller bar than 1 1/8 or 1 1/4. I believe the 64-72 A bodies can use the same sway bars. There is no problem with putting a larger size bar on your car. Here is an Article by George Nenadovich.

He mentions using a 70-81 Trans Am bar for the 68-72 A bodies, so It should also fit the 64-67 The bar is 1 1/4". Find one in a boneyard, get the bushings and endlinks aftermarket and you're set.

HO Enterprises makes 1 3/8" bars front and rear for the 64-72 A bodies. They are expensive, but come with everything, and fit like a glove. I have their front bar on my 70. They cost though.

I use the 1 1/4" bar ( 70-81 Trans am NOT Z28!!! ) on all of my 64, 67, 68, 69 Buicks I have 8 cars with them on I also use factory rear bars with the correct boxed lower rear arms. The front bars i pick from Pick and Pull Junk yards $6.00 :TU: The rear bars you can get NEW direct from GM 7/8" go in and ask for a 70 Chevelle and they will get it for you should cost about $100.00 or so The lower boxing kits come from OPG and run about $20.00 or so. So no need to run around with the qrong **** just do it right the first time I love how it makes all my cars handle and ride
