Over the winter I installed F body spindles w/ tubular upper A arms. All was well until I took it to the track and now it seems my front end doesn't have the same lift or rise at launch that it did before the swap. Are the new spindles to blame or have my springs given up?

    My set up:
    1965 Skylark
    Drag springs -GSCA
    QA-1 Shocks - full loose
    F body spindles
    Wilwood Brakes

    Thanks

    Hey Jim,
a friend had a similar problem with his stock eliminator car. When he first put it together ( with stock arms and spindles obviously) he used all the good polly bushings up front . The car had no separation at the hit and would just spin the tires(clutch car) He took the entire suspension apart and resized everything giving all of the busings less crush. The car is so free now that it feels like you can pick the car up by hand by the front bumper. At the hit of the throttle it completely separates the front suspension and gets up on the tires in the rear and goes down the race track.
This would not be the way to go on the street but its what works at the track for him and it might be something to consider in your application.
    good luck

    George,

I was looking at my upper control arms last night and I am wondering if the new bushings are creating some bind. Do you know how the super stock guys get there new bushings to loosen up?

    Thanks,

    Jim,
That must be a hot rod --625 hp. Must be fun all buick powered. :3gears:
Some use aluminum or "del a lum " bushings. The factory ones and the polys are just too tight .
    Give those a try.

    George,

Thanks for the info. Yep all buick power, driven to and from the track. If I ever get it all sorted out I should be able to run 10's (my goal). :3gears:

    Thanks,
