I know this makes me one of the most useless guys on here but I need some helpI am trying to change my front coil springs and struts on the 69 skylark.the tops of the strut are so baldy rusted that every time I turn the nut the cylinder in the strut turns with itI have tried vise grips and they cant get a hold of it, there isnt a whole of room for my extra large mittens to get two wrenches up there one on the main bolt and one on the nut.there has to be a easier way to get these struts offWhat should I do?
Go in from under the hood with a socket & long extention. Put them on the top stud of the shock & bend back and forth a few times as far as you can go. The stud will snap off right below the nut. Quick & easy
thanks alot guys. i am going to have to use the under the hood method due to lack of torchs and what not...soon one day i will have tools that make life easier... jeff
