    Dear V-8 Buick Audiophiles,

Until 1995 or so, I lived with my trusty wagon's AM Radio. So when I put in my Custom AutoSound stereo, I was trilled to just replace the OEM mono speaker with two tiny speakers for the front of the car. Hey, even FM was suddenly really cool!!

Fast forward 17 years and well - d'em dinky front speakers don't cut it no more. I'm happy with my rear speaker bar arrangement (see this thread for more details on that: )

    http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?259685-Auto-speaker-quot-bars-quot-are-they-extinct

So the question is: how to beef up the sound in the front without ripping the dash apart? (at least any more than . . . . it has already been ripped apart to install the A/C vents . . . :( )

My initial thought was to just upgrade to better quality speakers in the original OEM speaker position and add kick-panel speakers. I thought that would be good enough to beef up the sound. However, I may not be able to use the kick-panel after all because Vintage air wants to route the hoses through the passenger side kick-panel.

Another possibility is speakers in the door panels, but I really would prefer not do to that. The original door panels are in amazingly good shape. I really would hate to deface them.

So what have you'all done for speakers in the front? Any clever ideas on how to conceal them without horrible pain and suffering?

Pictures of how you have set up your speakers in the front would be especially appreciated!!

Thanks in advance for all sound system wisdom!! :TU:

    Cheers, Edouard :beer

P.S. As far as stock appearance, I'm not a fanatic about originality. I'm thinking about going with another Custom AutoSound in-dash stereo rather than something like a secret radio.

P.P.S. As far as tastes in music, I'm more of a classical/jazz kind of guy. So I don't need screaming subwoofers. I'll let my new JW masterpiece engine shake the ground!! :3gears:

I did some surface mount speakers to the floor right in front of the seats between your legs.. Works and doesn't get in the way either..
