The problem with that kid and so many other kids today is that when the kids first appear to be wondering down the wrong path, yuppie mommy and daddy have to councel the kid, play Dr. Phil, then have a "TIME OUT". B.S. Stop watching Oprah. Take the kids out back and disipline them. Maybe they will start respecting people a bit more. :spank:
Your soooo right on this one. Kids now a days don't know what a good a$$ whoppin is. Shoot even my two younger sibblins don't know. My mom will tell them to get the belt and they ask "Why are my pants falling down?" They won't be when I'm done with you! Our friends have invented something called the "time out chair" or they will count to 10.... What the is that!! If my mom ever uddered "2" I knew I was dead or wait till your father gets home! Half the time I didn't need my butt whoopped I had fear inbedded in me at a young age. That's what kids need now a days. Parents now think they will scar their kids for life if they raise a hand to them. Come on! we're not talking about leaving marks on them, just let them know who is boss. I think I turned out just fine :grin: and I would raise my kids the sameway. While reading this artical I couldn't stop asking what made this 11 year old take this to a sexual level? He is 11 he should still think girls have coodies and be playing with J.I. Joes.
To me it seems the answer to why kids now-a-days are resorting to this kind of crap is because of what the parents aren't doing. First, the parents have to have some form of common sense (seems most people don't have plain old common sense, respect, and courtesy anymore). When the kids don't do as they are suppose to, take them out back for a good old A _ _ whipping. When the kid screams, "I'll call the cops and report you for child abuse", tell them to go ahead. Just make sure they know what THEIR consequences will be! Either no mom or dad will go to jail, so they won't be around to take their crap anymore or THEY (the kid) will be going into foster care. Foster care can be good to get kids out of truely abusive homes. I know the old fashioned discipline works great because if it wasn't around in my family when I was growing up, I know I would have turned out quite different. I never really had the "old fashioned" discipline used on me because I was scared of it, so I made sure I didn't get into trouble. I just see so many parents I know with "problem" kids because of their fear of the system or fear of upsetting the kids. Parenthood is the biggest job anyone can undertake. Parents need to take responsibility for their children. I like the old saying, " I brought you into this world and I can take you out!" Children are OUR future. WE better start making sure we are raising our children right. One day they will be running this country!!! :eek2: Sorry, this is a very sore subject with me.
