Well now that my subscribtion for Norton antivirus updates has expired. Is there somewhere to get updates for free? o No: Thanks as always.
I will second Korrie's recommendation. I have been using AVG for 2 years now, never a problem and it updates automatically every day! Caught every virus so far and you can not beat the price! FREE!:TU:
Doug, if you mean free updates for your expired Norton, I'm sure that's not possible. If you are looking for totally free anti-virus software, I also use AVG, available at http://www.grisoft.com/us/us_dwnl_free.php You can set it up to auto update its virus database daily if you want, or do it manually. The auto-update only takes a minute on my system, while I'm on a little break. I've been using it for a couple years here at work, with no problems ever. I also use Mailwasher to pre-screen my incoming email at work, also a free program.
Although I do hate paying the subsription fee for Norton, there is a cheap way to do it. Last year I bought Norton 2003 online for $14 shipped. It was an OEM copy from a good vendor. I plan on doing the same again.
