Thursday 8-4 Frame primed with Omni AU Epoxy Primer (PPG). This went on nicely, dried quickly and I really like how it came out. Plan to finish with Nason 422-05 "Chasis Black" from Dupont tomorrow.

About how much does the body weigh? I noticed you have the body suspended in the air of your garage.

i notice 350 frame pads, are you staying with the 350?

We are staying with the 350 (2V). Seems like enough motor for a first car for my son and hopefully it will have some fuel economy! We do have a 4V intake and carb for potential replacement down the road. First things first!

The body is currently sitting on six 5 gal. plastic pails. We left the two "come-alongs" attached under slight tension for the time being. It will have to be better secured before we attack the floor boards (next on the list "to do."). Two 4x4's 8 ft in length are laying across the rafters to distribute the load. The body came off pretty easily.

I searched this site that led me to this link for a good article that we basically followed. http://www.buickperformance.com/body-off.htm I think I read somewhere during my search the body would weigh about 650 lbs without doors, trunk lid, interior, etc.
Thank you Ward for the very helpful article on how to lift the body off!
Thanks for the responses and encouragement!
