Hey everyone! Just a quick Q&A. I have a 73 Century 350 and will eventually be installing a 70' 455. I'm pretty sure the way some of you Skylark owners do the motor mount swap will work for the Century as well. I see some of you have 455 Century / Regals. I just want to ask before i buy the frame mounts. Thanks.... Tim

    Tim,
No, the frame pads for the 73-75 Century are different looking than the 70 and back.I tried using the 70 frame pads a few years ago,but they would not bolt in the same area. The Century/Regal takes a specific type. Not sure if Poston or TA sells them. Most of the 73-77 big block cars were factory.I have a 73 GS 350 Century 4 speed and was going to put a 455 in it.I would have had to weld the 70 mounts to the frame to work. Not a good option for mine. On a side note,I have been compiling info on all Century/GS cars and was wondering whether you would consider registering yours too.Any and all info would be appreciated. Please pm me an adress or email me at pdharmon@tds.net if interested.Iwill send you some info papers to fill out.
    Thanks,Pat

I was thinking like 70-76 frame mounts. The 70 Electra the eng. came out of were welded to the frame. Well it was actually a late 69. so that may have made a diff. I thought i heard something about keeping the SBB frame mounts & bolting SBB eng. mounts to the BBB? Doesn't sound right though. Anyone? Oh yeah, i'd register it but if i can't 455 it maybe i'm not keepn' it. But that's just a maybe.... Tim

Cut the sbb framemounts so they look like bbb mounts (angle and height), weld them to a steelplate and bolt them in. Add a spacertube when bolting the motor in (bbb motormounts are wider than the sbb framemounts) and you are done.

The only difficult part is lining the mounts up. I pulled the motor 2 times to get it right.
