Finally found a 455 locally. 1973 with 106k miles...might even be std. bore! With the TH400 for $700. I don't think that was too bad of a deal. Now for the fun part...taking it all apart. 20240419_144833.jpg 20240419_144823.jpg 20240419_144846.jpg

    Good price!

a long tailshaft 400 like that will only work in a B body car unless you shorten the driveshaft.

Or convert the trans to a short shaft. That's what I did with one.

Is it true that people are actually looking for the air pump and intake manifold from this engine?

Yes, some people that are going for the “stock” look will want that.
Hang on to it and see if you can sell it.

yes don't get rid of anything, that has to do with that A.I.R system. Pump, hoses, clamps, intake manifold etc. As a matter of fact I have that same bracket that holds the PS pump with a welded plate on top when I deleted the AIR pump many moons ago. This welded up bracket is a must if you want to run the same PS pump and pulleys on that motor. PM me if you are interested.
