I haven't seen this product discussed here so I thought I would pass on my experience. I was at my local tool store and they had a paint called "Zero-Rust". The clerk convinced me this paint in black is close to correct semi-gloss and it's almost as good as POR. So I tried it on my frame and did it ever come out nice! Two coats sprayed at about 30% reduction. A perfect job and the sheen is as close as you'll get from a can. I'm very pleased with the results and the price compared to POR. Here's their website if you want to check them out further. http://www.zerorust.com/ Harvey
I have used this on my car, You can get it in diffrent colors and in aresol or pint format. Here is a pic of my car so far with ZeroRust.
If it's not raining here tomorrow I'll take some pics of the frame and of the firewall and post them. Harvey
Zero Rust I used Zero Rust on parts of my car and it worked geat! I found out about it from WWW. autobodystore.com Len has tested this product on the mounting brackets of his boat engine that is subject to lots of salt. One side done with por15 and the other side with Zero Rust take a look on his site you will not beleive the differance. Len also uses Picklex & picklex 20 rust converter. Zero Rust also has a Crystal Coat for gloss. Autobodystore.com is a great place to get help for paint or Autobody info and buying supplies. Len has been in the autobody business for 35 years and is great to deal with give it a try. Rick
If this Zerorust is an upgrade from POR-15, then it is a great product! When I restored my car, I used both POR-15 and Eastwood's "version" on all of the metal I could get to. The POR-15 was superior in every way and I gave it a test in the end. A couple of whacks from my 22 ounce framing hammer, and the POR-15 didn't chip or separate at all. Good product... But it is nice to see another company try to improve this market niche for us. Russ Waters 1970 Skylark Convertible 455
