Ran across a young man who is really into buicks. Apparently he has a 70, (I'll see it today) he's looking to part with ASAP. According to him, he got it with a transplant 455. Heater was removed and a "stop sign" screwed over the hole. Car has 3" exhaust, TH400, Car has no rust except for right below the rear window.Apparently, grill, doors, body, bumpers etc. all real good. He said he got it with a 12 bolt, had the 12 bolt redone, 3"73s with a posi, but he wants to keep the rear end. He said car screamed when he drove it. Oh, also has headers and an aluminum intake of "some vintage". Anyhow, I'll post some pics when I see it. I think the car may be "got" for around 1500 bucks. Doesn't sound bad does it? I'll keep ya guys posted. Also found a 88 Mercedes 2-seater, 2 door coupe. Doesn't run, but sitting for about 6 months. Requires a mechanics lean to pick it up. I looked at the car. heck, it's all there. Not bad at all, just doesn't run. Too many good deals coming my way to deal with. I'll keep ya posted. Car is out here in So. Cal. Oh, one last thing. He has a 72 'lark. 100 thous miles and he is about half way building a stout 350, buick of course, for it. Jim Burek, he now has your number and email address.
I would be leery of the '70. Especially if the rear end is already out. How can you tell how the engine and tranny is if you can't drive it? Check the car thoroughly and then some
I don't want the car....too many projects. Ya, know what you mean. The rear end is not out of the car, he just wants to keep it. I'll check it out thoroughly and post the results. Len
Hey Len, hope all is well. I'm interested in the '70 w/455. Email me at "badbuik@cox.net" or call (858)531-2963 Gary Giessen
The guy will replace the 12 bolt with a ten bolt and now wants around 1000 for the car....this is definitely worth it.
Does it have power windows ? if so i'd buy the switches if you had them. 70' correct though- rounded edges.
