Ford wheel rim fit a Buick, or vise versa?

    Some friends and I were talking bout working on and around cars.
    Someone brought up remembering that a Ford wheel rim will fit on a Buick, or maybe the other way around.
    I kinda remember something like a Buick rim fitting a Ford being true. But not sure.
    Since nobody had a Ford or a spare Ford rim to try it out, I thought Id ask the board here to settle it.

    I tried this on a '68 electra I had, it worked!

    finally i found this thread.. thanks for the link you posted for the bolt patterns of production automobiles.. i need it badly. thanks..

    back in the 50's, 60's, ford and chrysler used the same bolt pattern and wheels were interchangeable, but not gm.
