I have a ford 9" non posi w/disc brakes out of a '79 lincoln and Im backand forth on either shortening the rear to size OR maybe trying to attempt to fit those disc brakes onto my GM 10 bolt I have laying around. WE shall see, does anyone have attempts they've tried like this?

    Hi!
I have a 86 regal with the lincoln versailles rear end ( stock rear disc's) Its in the car but the car is not on the road yet ( a few weeks) The only problem I had is the shocks hit the parking break levers so I had to move the bottom shock mount over about 1 inch . I drilled a new hole and welded on a bushing. I welded on my own mounts and used the Edelbrock upper adjustable arms to play with the pinion angle.
    Hope that helps?

The Versailles disc r/e is over 1.5" narrower on each side than the original Buick 8.2. Have built quite a few of the drum brake version (Granada). This narrow 9" is best fit for a '65-67 Nova, or in a '64-66 Mustang. Due to higher distance where upper control arm perchs will be located, budget for double adjust upper control arms on any 9" A-body (factory 4 link) swap.

Mid to late '70's "Milewide" big Lincoln disc rears, I won't mess with. Have no need for big car disc pieces.

The big lincoln rear is a waist of time in my opinion bolt pattern is I believe 5x5 and the cost of cutting and resplining the stock axels and narrowing the housing. The one I have is 31 spline though! I agree with the above post! I'm a machinist and I wouldn't bother with it for my own car! Too much work!
The Versailles is 58- 3/8 inches hub to hub.( same as stock g-body) Fit perfect into the 1986 regal I'm building
