    Hello all,

Our SP400 trans demised last week, and were are in need of a new trans.
I'm looking with Jim B for a new one.

But I need some expert advise, since my trans is in need of replacement I want the best setup I can get for my racing combo.

Can one of you more experienced racers, tell me whats the best choice for strip use, a SP400 setup of TH400 setup?

    tnx

    Robert

im not nearly experienced enough to call myself experienced, but how much street use will the car see? If its only for drag racing, get a TH400, not sure of any differences besides converters, but a normal converter has less moving parts, so its stronger, and will not break as much. why would you need to have the option of changing the stall in a strip only car?

    thats just me 2cents

For a strip only car, the proper fixed pitch converter is the better choice. Not so much from a strength standpoint, but a fixed pitch converter is lighter. The proper stall speed fixed pitch converter will be more consistent also
