I have a stack of flexplates from various buick engines. Is there any easy way to tell a 350 from a 455 flexplate? Thanks Bob Lorenz
Hi Bob, Am pretty sure that the 400-430-455 ones had round holes in them (six ones I think) and the 350 ones have much larger oblong opennings. The 455 ones are supposed to different than the 400-430 ones. Seem to recall that they are a little thicker, but don't hold me to it. Mark
455's are an externally balanced motor whereas I don't think the 350 is.Therefore, there should be a counterweight on the 455 flexplate, I think.
