I really would rather not jack my car up after use but my Dunlop 9000s flat spot real bad from sitting. Takes at least 20 miles and they still aren't completly smooth. In weather below 50 deg they never smooth out.
Dunlop says I have ruined them. Hello?? Some people buy performance tires for cars that sit often for weeks/months.
They sugessed that I jack it up or move the car every 2 days. Ha???
They also said Corvette drivers are using some sort of matt sucessfully to prevent it.

    Any ideas?

Tell them you want a full refund. Nowhere in their product literature did it say a benefit form owning these tires is to expect to have flat spots

I wish.......They also said it is due to the high nylon content and that once it takes a set it don't go back.
Maybe if I drop the pressure to 15 psi and swerve back and forth to get them hot. :3gears:

What ya need is some sort of round wheel blocks to park in. :0

Not sure what you can do. Maybe over inflate them 10-20 psi. The max rating for my 5000s is 35-52 psi, I am sure yours is similar.

They wont go out of round till after 52.
so 60-70 should help to force them into another shape.

    Hmmmmm
Interesting idea, maybe I'll try 100 PSI to make them round again? What da ya think? No, really, I'm serious.

100psi is ok from what I have read. Seen a site once where a guy kept like 140 in his spare tire to fill the others back up after he got done off roading. Though if one did come off the rim, watch out.

Maybe just do it to the rear tires. drive it around then switch n do it over.

    Here's Good Years response:
Yeah, right....when was the last time the dealer said: "hold on, need to drop the tire pressures before the test drive". What are they somking???

Most high performance tires are made with a nylon overlay.

As such, the following steps should be taken to avoid flatspotting when the vehicles are not used for a period of time.

Automobile dealerships store their vehicles with 44 PSI in the tires. If the cars are demonstrated, the air pressure is reduced to recommended operating pressure and then increased back up to 44 PSI when the demonstration is over.

If the vehicle is stored for periods longer than 30 days, it should be moved several feet at least once during each 30-day period, so that a different portion of the tread contacts the ground

u better be sure the tire is in a cabinent or well chained because if u break a 100 psi , this sucker is going into orbit !
the tires flat spot from sitting due to the high nylon content . this was a common problem many years ago before polyester came onto the market . i did not know that nylon was still being used in card tires . truck tires , now that is a different story .

Almost all the performance tires use a nylon casing. I guess I need a cheap tire.....

They use nylon so you can run a wide PSi range without un-even wear on the tire. Why the PSI range is 35-52.

Its also very good for blow out protection at lower PSI. Something Firestone should of done for its under inflated SUV tires.

my self though I have no t had any problem with my 5000s. My car sits weeks at a time. Had a few flats but only from valve stems. Some reason my right rear valve stems keep breaking off. 3 this year. I gotta stop huggin them curbs.

you should be able to make a tire cradle very cheap. if you own your property, you could make them from cement. Or get a fresh black top driveway and park on it after 20mins. Perfect tire cradle.
