It should.. 502 HP and 552TQ... a milestone motor for me, first of these with iron exhaust manifolds to make 500 HP at 10.5-1 on pump gas. Did an all iron Stock Appearing motor a few years back that did it, but that was high compression, with fully ported heads and intake and a much larger SA style flat tappet cam.. Have made 490 something with iron intake/alum heads/roller cam and headers on pump gas.. This one is pump gas, port match only on the intake, 230 duration hyd roller.. going in a ragtop driver.. Took three dyno sessions, a cam change, and a seance with the carb tuning, but we got it there. Thanks for selling your head castings to us Ethan, or Ray would be waiting, like everybody else.. TA finally has STG 1 head castings now.. but it will be a while before they are machined. --------------- and I know your a Urethane man, but hold your nose and put in the backlight with tape.. and click on the trim.. hate to see that thing blow out on the highway, when your using the 70mph AC.. Hate to see you do all that work, and then have the car impounded after the backlight flies out, and hits another car.. JW
Glad to help,..and impressive numbers for pump compression,..mild cam and manifolds,..should go 12.0s without trying He'll i may just leave the back glass out,..and get the full flow thru ventilation haha not like I'll be locking it up.. just not sure I'll have time to get the rear wi down Channel repaired in time but it's on the list,..the very long list
ah.. rust damage... gotcha.. Leave the windshield out, and just go with goggles.. tell the cops it's a glorified motorcycle.. and don't smile.. (bugs in the teeth).. A rainstorm could be an issue.. Hail would be a show stopper.. Well, good luck with it, will be watching for updates. JW
Motor is almost in. Should crank it up and drive it tomorrow. One correction……the car is a hardtop not a ragtop.
Hardtop, ragtop, ... so many customers, so many cars, who can keep track of it all.. Apparently not me.. Ya Brett, that line has a -4 fuel pressure gauge tap in it also. I will be making those steel lines up, with and without the pressure tap, for sale here later this year. Looking good Ray.. All stock.. JW
Yes, I asked Jim to use the top section of my factory Stage 1 fuel line to maintain as much of the stock look as possible. The tap down by the RobbMC fuel pump is to attach a fuel pressure gauge to so I can monitor pressure during a long 3 rd gear pull.
I like it! Nice and clean and well thought out for the fuel gauge tap. Look forward to it. Do you plan on offering larger diameter fuel lines as well? Since we've hijacked Ethan's thread, maybe start a new one using Ray's picture and see how much interest you may have? Just a thought....
I use an electric Autometer fuel pressure gauge. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/atm-3361?rrec=true I used a Russell fitting that replaces the fuel filter fitting on my 1972 Quadrajet, https://www.summitracing.com/parts/rus-640340 I then used this fitting for a 1/8 NPT tap for the electric sending unit. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/...MIgs2cy7-n9wIVgf7jBx1lQgkYEAQYASABEgKJH_D_BwE
Heck of a Roadkill project. I’m ashamed of myself for thinking I had too much work to do getting mine ready to go for the race this year hope to see you there this will be my third trip but the first with my car!
I’m running the 500hp Robb Mc with a built qjet , the Robb 1/2 tank pickup, 8an fuel line all the way to the carb, similar power range and it was starving for fuel at the top of second so I had to run a holley red electric in series and it fixed the issue. Motor does rev to 6500 though Good luck Ethan
By the way, looks like all the posts about my motor kind of hijacked Ethan’s original post. I should probably start a new thread.
I All are welcome here ha I'm hoping I have time to get the other engine out today and get a good bit done tomorrow,....got 6 vehicles leaving today so hard to say
