The last time I really got to drive my 1965 Skylark was when I was 18 years old.

I finally had a chance to take it out for a short drive. I took it to the Gasket Goons NJ Hot Rod Hustle in Asbury, NJ.

I made it to the show without issues. Only had one minor hiccup on the way home when the battery cable shorted on the exhaust manifold. My bad for not properly securing it before take off.

Anyway just thought I would share a few photos of my adventure.

Not sure what the plan is for this car besides getting it safe to drive around for more than 10 minutes at a time. I was thinking of putting it on airbags and just make a tire smoke machine. I really would like a Nailhead in it but I know the cost and work involved isn't worth it.

Progress is slow. I think the next step is redoing the trunk and gas tank mounts. Probably going to take a week off work for that one.

Why so blue, bro? I know how you feel. Hard to explain it unless you've been there. Keep up the progress.
