Doug, This probably has more to do with the car being a Freemont built ride (wasn't it?). I noticed some other differences from a Flint built car too (read cut corners). I'm glad everything's in good shape so far.
thanks for the kudos, ive never done a body off resto so its all new to me, its a big job but will be worth it when its done. Brian yes it is a fremont built car so it must have spent its first 30+ years on the west coast.
after not working on it all summer i finally did a little today. i blasted the firewall area and some of the seams. as expected i found some pinholes in a few spots but nothing bad also some cool numbers on the firewall.
No Bowling Green for you? - That is super cool with the numbers, I assume they all match the tag, but wander what the large 59 is for, number in line? Car also looks super solid from the pics. Keep posting the progress, love posts like this.
nope no BG. yes they all match the tag, the 59 is the paint code. car is solid, theres a few pinholes here & there but nothing bad.
you jones'ing as much as me ? .. car looks too clean for us northerners. you sure you can work on something that uncrusty ?
spent a few days scraping and wire wheeling and painting. its getting there. next step is to put the body on the frame:beer and sell the rotisserie
Doug, your project and progress look great. I'm doing a frame off on my 67 convertible and can appreciate the effort it takes. Thanks for the pics and postings, keep em coming!!
