Just heard that Rodney Dangerfield died from heart operation complications. It's a shame to lose another legend!! Scary part is....my uncle had the same operation in the same hospital last Christmas time. :eek2: Things were touch and go with him, for quite a while. Here is the article on Rodney.
From what I heard, he had been in the hospital for quite some time now. The story linked makes it sound rather sudden, which I don't think was the case.
I think I'll watch Caddy Shack in his honor. Man, what a funny guy! "My wife told me she wanted to do it in the car. Yeah, and she wanted me to drive!" "I asked the bartender where I could get a little action in town. He showed me a picture of my wife!" "I worked in the kind of place you had to go three steps down to get into- physically and socially" "I tell ya, this place I worked in was tough! (how tough was it Rodney?) The boss asked me if I wanted to go huntin'. I said I'm game- So he shot me!" "I tell ya, I don't get no respect. It ain't easy bein' me!" Bye Rodney! :ball:
That's right! I had 'No Respect' lettered on the doors of my daily driver '76 Skyhawk 20 years ago. RIP Rodney.
"Easy Money" and "Caddyshack" my all time favorites. Could watch them over and over, His appearances on Johny Carson and Ed Sullivan are Classic. His help and support thru the 70's and 80's to lesser known "newer" comics is commendable. A Great Talent. Good Bye Rodney. We'll Miss You :ball:
"Man is my wife ugly...I had to tie a steak around her neck to get the dog to play with her" "Gees...you'd have to have no brains or taste to buy a hat like that................oh but it looks good on you though.":Brow: God bless you Rodney, you made us laugh til we cried. :ball:
R.I.P. Rodney I tell you, "I get no respect.'" "Every time I get in an elevator, the operator says the same thing to me" : "Basement?'" "I played hide and seek; they wouldn't even look for me"    Thanks for making us laugh! :TU:
My favorite is Back to School. I've introduced some younger friends to Rodney, and they really liked him.
