When I was taking up the old carpet last summer, I remmber finding a sheet under the rear capret... After digging through storage, I managed to find it again (thinking it may have been the build sheet) but it's not a build sheet. It's similar in size to the 14 7/8" x 11" computer greenbar paper. It's pretty rust covered and illegible, but it looks like an inspection sheet of the final body assembly. At the very bottom of the sheet in the right corner it says "FINAL BODY BUYOUT." I wish I could make out more of the text, but that's about all I can go on. Maybe Duane may know what this is? -- Larry '70 Electra Convertible
Fischer Body Final It is the paperwork for the Fischer body employees, used to build the body. Then the body was sent to Buick final assembly where it was mounted on a frame and completed.
Larry, Dan is correct, that sheet was used by Fisher Body to build the shell. The punch outs, in the "FINAL BODY BUYOUT" space on the sheet, are the initials of the inspector that purchased the shell for Buick. I sent in a buildsheet article for "The Buildsheet" that talks about this sheet and several others. The next issue will probably be all about the BPG Nats, my article will probably be in the following issue. Duane
