A really nice car show was nearly spoiled today over a parking space. It was like a scene out of "A Bronx Tale".

Luckily the younger guy had sense to involve the local police who just happen to be sponsoring the event.

I don't know what the end result was, but both Buick's were gone when I came back. I'm sure the younger guy said "screw this" and went back home.

I have never seen a Buick guy behave like this. Near violence over parking too close.

Happy 4th to you too, angry "F" word guy, where ever you are!:(

I know just what you mean. We attend many shows, and have seen first hand how some guys want their car parked in the most conspicous spot. These two clowns just gave us Buick guys another black eye. When the hobby you enjoy comes to the point you become so miserable and can't even be friendly enough to agree on a parking spot without fighting, then perhaps it's time to find a new hobby. :bglasses:

He was parked 1 car over from mine, we saw the whole ugly exchange. The guy with the GN went nuts because this kid had the nerve to park next to him. He was centered in his parking space, and it shouldn't have even been an issue.

The younger guy, I think his name is Frank, stuck around for quite awhile after the incident. He was still there when we left at about 2 pm. He really is a nice guy, my wife and I chatted with him for most of the show. He said he is a member here, so maybe he'll see this and see most were on his side.

I think he handled things quite well considering the A-hole was in his face threatening to fight him. I doubt I would have been as calm.

This kind of behavior doesn't make our already tiny community look very appealing to people that are interested in getting into Buicks. Time for some people to grow up. :(

    Geeze
    what a shame.
I'd have to chalk it up to a bad day for the GN guy.
All the GN folk we've met in the Chicago club dont seem like "fly off the handle" type's.
Hope it didnt spoil to much fun.

This is a world wide thing, seen the same stupid incidents happening in England, Switzerland, Germany and here in the Netherlands.

When I'm attending a car show, I want to have fun. No silly fights or arguments about parking space, we all are in the same hobby so what's the problem......:Dou:

I've had this sort of thing happen to me before, not as extreme, but here is what I've alwyas said.

"I want to hit my car with your car about as much as you want me to hit your car with my car,"

    That usually ends it.

On a side note, I dad was at a show where some guy shows up in some mid 80's rust bucket Benz. He parks it on a fairly steep hill next to a few other cars. During the cruise, the car falls out of gear, comes tearing down the hill and smashes into an original owner near perfect other car ( I forget what it was) but he car he hit looked to be a write off. I'd be really mad!

i agree, if the guy was centered in his space, what more was he supposed to do ? it reminds me of last year at the nats. i went out to my truck to find a GN had wedged his car in tight beside my new truck. there was no dings, and no problem either, but i thought to myself, what was this guy thinking ? neither one of us wants a door ding, yet he puts it in there just to get under the shade, or near the entrance ? :Do No: the good thing for him is, i am super carefull about door dings, but for all he knows, i might've been one of those guys that doesnt care. i wouldnt have squeezed my truck in a spot that tight.

i do think if he was so dang worried about his car, he shouldnt have parked it anywhere near where someone else could park. in todays lined parking lots, the spaces arent as big as they were when these cars were built, that is a problem nowdays. the guy should'nt have gone ballistic over what might have happened.

In many cases, there's usually another reason. Maybe something happened at home just before coming to the show. I dont think the parking problem was the real reason he flew off the handle. Unfortunatly most people bottle up all thier anger. One little thing happens and they vent it all out. .....Or the guy could just be an a****le:Do No:

If folks don't think there is a chance of their classic car getting a ding or a person rubbing against it, or even someone parking by it, then they need to keep it home! We'll all do just fine without the particular car in attendance.
