Hi, I bought the fiberglass hood for my 71 skylark off of Yearone, I was just wondering if anyone knows if im going to need to have the hood to foam seal plates they offer on their website. any info is greatly appreciated, thanks.

If those are what i'm thinking they are then you dont have to have them. I've been running my car without them for as long as i can remember. If you want a more stock appearing underhood look you might be able to pick up a nice driver set here on the board used.

if i remember right with the fiberglass hood u will need a different set of hood hinges. You'll have to ask what hinges you need.

I think you'll just need a lighter spring.... hinges should work.
Ive got a fiberglass hood, always got my eye out for a steel one.

did you get the hood yet?
Are the holes for the scoops cut out out or do you do that yourself?

If you have the vents and the insert thats all you'll need. I dont have the seal plates installed on mine. Foams will still seal to the hood although the have funny shape now for not sealing against a flat surface

The one I got didn't have the scoops cut out, I'm guessing I just cut them out along the inner part of the foam. Where can I get a lighter spring? What vents are you talking about?

for lighter springs, I thought I read somewhere that jeep Cherokee springs will work
