fender decoding

    HEY DUANE
    SORRY FOR BARKING i was in a lousy mood yesterday,and the worst thing about a computer is, ya just cant hear the mood of the person you are talking to sorry again
    but anyway the lip on the rim i will look tomorrow. but the 'WO' on the rim iswhat i dont get everything else on this car is original. and now you are saying that these rims are 73-77 vintage. just a little puzzeling:Do No: and i could not find the date code on the fenders anywhere

    Scott,
    No problem on my end, and I completely understand about mis-communication,

    Check the rear wheel lip for the following, they should read M4/?, that is "M4" with a small number under it, then you would have the 12 3 WO stamped after it.

    The 73-77 wheels look similar to original 66-70 wheels but actually used a different hub & rim. The reason you see these wheels on so many 65-70 cars is they are easy to come by, plus you can use them on disc brake cars. You would not believe how many quote "correctly restored" 65-70 cars have these rims at car shows. They are so common that finding a car with the correct rims is the exception.

    The fender dates are at the bottom of the fender (at least they were on my 66 car). They are stamped very faintly, you need to basically lay down on the ground and look directly up at the bottom of the fender to see them. If there is any rust at all there, or heavy paint, good luck finding them.
