After looking for quite some time for a reasonable priced 12 bolt I found and purchased a 8.2 10 bolt posi with factory 3.90 gears from a California '66 GTO along with all the control arms and frame reinforcements.It's a nice and tight unit.Obviously not as strong as a 12 bolt but the non C clip axle retention is nice.Just wondering if any board members are using this style and could provide some feedback about them.Thanks as always.
The BOP 8.2 is fairly strong and has some aftermarket support, as long as your not putting a trans brake and slicks on the car it should take plenty of abuse. Steve
i also just purchased a 10 bolt 8.2 rear. the guy said it was out of a 70 chevelle and he had bought it from a flee market to put in his cutlass. it is a posi rear with factory 2.73 gears. i was wondering what the largest gear set it would take is?
