What is the fastest full weight(3800lbs ) small tire gs running through the tailpipes .Standard stoke, NO STROKERS.or nitrous.
I have a car that was 3990 and with a 462 (30 over 455) I went as fast as 10.94@127 now that I have the 535 I still weigh the same and keep nipin away at the single digits (9s) I hope to get one soon may be to late now with winter here....
My car has run 11.99 on a 10" slick on a slippery track on a warm day. It does weigh almost 4300 lbs. with me in it. I'm actually hoping to go in the 11.70's with a Stage 2 hood scoop and front spoiler this spring. Hopefully it will be cooler out too. A/C belt was removed during that run.
Mines gone 11.80 running out of gear and coasting through the traps at 115mph. The car weigh's 4200+ with me in it. This was on a street tire with 17 inch wheels 275-40-17's . With the correct gears (3.31's) I'm hoping for low 11's on street tires. at around 120+mph I should have a track time by the end of this month with the new gears.............
Just look at GSE If you want to see the fastest 3800 pound cars with full exhaust just look at gse. I have responded to a couple of your post on this subject. I will give you another Quick over veiw tim haffner 10.0's gary laughlin 10.11 perry carlini 10.teens Me 10.teens jeff hart 10.20's steve steele 10.20's These are some of the fastest out there if you want to see some of them run come to The nat's I'm sure some of them will be there.
I agree w/ B-MaK.......The cars you're looking for are in the STREET ELIMINATOR class and do not get enough mention for what they are and what they run........They are making comparable power to some of the Heads-up Streetcar classes in various organizations. The only difference is they run at a heavier weight than said classes. Don't forget Bruce Kent at 9.9x at 134 since this question was not presented as A-body specific. I'm not sure you'll find a N/A Buick big block much over 875-900HP(Including strokers)..............Not quite yet,at least:Brow:
Here's the GSE website http://www.iserv.net/~abuick/ Back in the day they used to update it:moonu: Just bustin' yer' balls Bobb......I need you to keep doing what makes you too busy to update the site.
Thanks Gary I need more people busting my Balls. Once the series fell apart I decided not to spend the time on it. I think I will add some new stuff this year and update the info after the GS nats. The way it was posted earlier in the year the BPG only plan on one heads up class and I will bet it won't be GSE. Which is too bad but I will still go and run bracket one. If we had car count I would put something together at Norwalk to but it is a long haul for some of the guy's. It would be for bragging rights only I think money just clouds the fun. This last years GSE race at the nats. Was in my opinion the most fun I have had in years. No infighting we were all just there to have a good time. I fact it made me change my mind about a major revamp of the rules. We will see how it goes this year as far as car count and make a decision on it for next year .
Gary, I'd like to throw one piece of info into the pool as far as Big Block Buick horsepower goes. My buddy Scotty Guadagno built one that put out 1050 HP and in his 2400 lb Pro Stock style '92 Regal, went 7.68 @ 176.50. That's what I call POWER!
Doug That combo crossed my mind while I typed that post.....I just didn't know enough detail on it. Boy,How happy would I be w/ a 1000+HP? Be about 8.80's in my car......
From what I understand Scotty could have made more power than that but the block would not take it. I wonder what he could have done with one of the new blocks if he had one then. Tom
My mistake in my earlier post. I was down to see Scotty tonight to get my cylinder head fixed, and he told me that his Stage4 motor made 950 HP , not the 1050 I said. OOPS! The amazing part is how his car (with Lenco trans) lost virtually NO HORSPOWER from the dyno to the rear wheels. I checked it on the slide rule. To go 176 mph in a 2400 lb car, you need 950 rear wheel HP. On a side note, while I was there, Scotty dynoed a customer's 632" BBC nitrous motor. It made 1250 HP WITHOUT the juice and only a single Dominator! Scotty said it was running a little on the lean side even after he richened it up and what it really needed was a second carb or one of his EFI setups. I would've liked to have seen that big hog dynoed with the spray but he said he couldn't do it until they can get some more fuel into it. The sound that motor made, combined with the HP numbers, made me jealous and wishing I had something more than a "grocery getter" engine block in my car. Maybe someday we'll have a block that'll take that kind of power.
What ever happened to Scotty's Regal? I tryed to purchase a 494 motor that he had built and called him at work but always got put on hold. Needless to say I did not buy the engine due to lack of a girdle and the fact that I really didn't need it as my car is not ready for it yet. Just one of those wish list things. Hey Doug. What do you run for a rear suspension? It leaves very level. Hey Mike G. do you reckon you have enough post? 3021!!!!!!!! You must be a good moderator?
Scotty still has the Regal and it's for sale. My rearend is a 9-inch Ford with 4.30s on a spool. The suspension is a 4-link with Koni coil-overs and a wishbone. It's a nice setup and it leaves HARD and goes straight.
Why didn't you buy Scotty's engine? I know you want 120 more HP!!!!!!! Or is he selling the car as a whole? Do you run any type of anti-roll bar for the rear end?
