Well since this post from about a month ago got wasted by the evil hacker, I guess I'll have to start it over again. The last time I wrote it I went through my buddy's combo on his 430 that he has in an 83 T-type. It was a basic rering, rebearing job with a huge cam and heads he ported himself with backcut stock valves (non-Stage). Tranny is a Th-350 from a V6 car, rear is a 9" with 3.89 gears and a Detroit Locker. Car weighed in at 2995. His best time then was 11.53 at Pittsburgh Raceway Park (aka Keystone). Update to this dead thread: He recently lightened the car about 60 or 70 lbs and added an aluminum radiator. The temp is now around 180 instead of the 200-210 he got before with a 4 core rad. On Sunday he got into the 11.3's at Quaker City. Quaker City is 1 to 2 tenths slower than Keystone. He let the car shift itself at around 5200. He was shifting at 6000 before. I told him that he needed to keep that motor in that car untill he breaks into the 10's. Then he can put his Stage 2 464 in.
